Stoploss Preferences in Stolo
As a signed up user of Stolo, you can configure Stoploss Configuration by visiting Preferences. We have quite many configuration for you to trade like a pro.
Stoploss Terminologies
Stolo platform introduces new concepts for Stololoss placing & managing. Here are all the terms you need to understand w.r.t Stoploss
- Stoploss - An opposite leg order placed to protect downside/loss of the trade. Stopping the loss using Stoploss.
- Stoploss Type - Stoploss can be placed as Points, Percentage of the price or absolute Price.
- Stoploss Points - How far the stoploss should be placed from the buy price. For ex. 20 Points SL on Rs.200 Option would place the SL at Rs.180
- Stoploss Percentage - Whats percentage of price would be used for the Stolpss. For ex. 10% SL on Rs.200 Option would place the SL at Rs.180
- Stoploss Price - You can also set absolute price for the Stoploss For ex. On Rs.200 Option price, you can set the Stoploss at Rs.180
- Stoploss On LTP or Entry Price - In Stolo, you can configure whether the Stoploss should be placed at LTP (Last Traded Price) of the contract of the Entry Price of the order
- Stoploss Trailing Points - We allow you to move your stoploss with the help of + (plus) & - (minus) buttons. The trailing points decide how many points the Stoploss should move with each click.
- Automatic Placing Stoploss - Stolo provies the feature of adding a Stoploss automatically after the entry order is executed.
- Auto Trailing Stoploss - Stolo provies the feature of auto trailing of the Stoploss. Once you enable this, we take care of moving the Stoploss as per market movement to maximise profits.
Stoploss Points & Percentage Configuration
You can set default Stoploss Points & Percentage for all your trades. This helps in adding quick stoploss while in trade. You can also set default Stoploss Type
- Stoploss Type - Choose default selected Stoploss Type (Points or Percentage)
- Stoploss Value - Set default Stoploss Points or Percentage based selected Stoploss Type
- Trailing Points - Set the Stoploss Trailing Points
- Stoploss Calculation On - Select whether the Stoploss Calculation should be done on the entry price or LTP of the instrument
- Symbol Wise Stoploss - You can select Stoploss Points or Percentage for particular symbols based on volatility. If any symbol is not mentioned here, default values set above would be used.
Symbol Wise Stoploss
Not all instruments have the same volality & movement. Like for NIFTY 20 points Stoploss is fine, but for SENSEX one needs atleast 80 points Stoploss. Stolo provide this configuration option where in you can set symbol wise Stoploss points. If any particular Symbol points is not set, then the default value is picked for it.
- Set the default Stoploss Points & Percentage as mentioned above
- Add Symbol specific points & percentage
Automatic Placing Stoploss
You can enable this to add Stoploss automatically to the order as soon as order is placed. These Stoploss would be handled & monitored in Stolo's Server. The values for Stoploss would be taken as per the configuration above.
- Enable the Auto Stoploss Placement
- Ensure you have set proper values in the configuration above
- Ensure that you hav set set Symbol wise Stoploss
Auto Trailing Stoploss
Stolo provides auto trailing feature of the set Stoploss. Once you enable this, Stolo would take care of trailing the Stoploss price based on the instrument price movement.
- Enable the Auto Trailing Stoploss Placement
- Ensure you have set proper values in the configuration above
- Ensure that you have set set Symbol wise Stoploss. If not set, it would take the default values.
